The Occupy Movement is spreading and some cities can handle it better than others. Oakland decided a heavy-handed tactic was needed and sent in the police to destroy the tent camp and attack demonstrators with teargas and rubber bullets.

Occupy Wall Street organizers said Olsen was hit in the head by a tear gas canister fired by police during a confrontation near downtown Oakland. A spokesman for Highland General Hospital confirmed that Olsen was being treated for injuries sustained during the protest and was listed in critical condition.
