At noon, villagers eagerly await for the first sighting of sails billowing in the wind, marking the return of their fishermen. All fish is sold immediately on the beach or in the official market where it is auctioned to the highest bidder. The Dhouws are moored and their sails secured for the night. The tide changes and the ocean returns to the shore of Matemwe. Photos by Rachel Ambrose.
